Cinco’s First Swim Meet – The Winter Classic

First Swim Meet Cinco Ranch

First Swim Meet at Pengu Swim School Cinco Ranch

On Friday, March 17th, 2017, Pengu Swim School’s Pro Level Swimmers and Swim Team Academy Swimmers battled it out at the pool! The Winter Classic was a roaring success with a lot of fun, talented swimmers and supportive parents and coaches.

In preparation for our first swim meet, our enthusiastic swimmers practiced hard each week for an hour.  These hour-long training sessions are coached by our knowledgeable instructors. Here is the deal, Pengu instructors have swim team experience and know just what it takes to “go the extra mile” in the pool!  During these practice sessions, swimmers practice all four strokes including: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.  They work hard to improve their technique in these strokes while building endurance, speed, and strength.

In addition to technique, strength, endurance, and speed the swimmers also learn more about the competitive aspect of swimming.  They practice flip turns, starts, and even learn how to properly read the pace clock.  Although competition is an important part of the sport we make sure to combine that with fun and encourage a love of the sport of swimming!

As the coaches and swimmers work hard year-round to improve their game, we would be remiss to not recognize the success of the swimmers and swim meet is largely credited to our parents.

At Pengu Swim School we know the commitment and dedication it takes to come out each week. It is this dedication to ensure that progress and improvement occurs.  We want to send a huge THANK YOU to all of the parents!

If you did not have a chance to participate in the Winter Classic, have no fear!  Pengu Swim School plans to host three swim meets a year!  We look forward to the next swim meet!
