Pengu Swim School is looking for an experienced, motivated and highly accountable person to fill our General Manager position. This candidate will support staff and the operations of the building across all levels. This position is responsible for assisting with the management of a staff of approximately 50 people. This person serves as the face of the facility for the customers and all staff members.

If you are a strong leader with excellent social skills, have a background in customer service, you love kids and you have great organizational skills then we would like to talk to you about joining our Pengu team! This position will report directly to the General Manager of the business and will be an integral part of representing Pengu Swim School and the overall brand.

Responsibilities

-Training and management of staff

-Ensuring excellent customer service is being provided to customers

-Providing direction and strategy for daily success

-Implement and uphold policies and procedures

-Implement and maintain daily and weekly reports

-Conduct monthly/weekly staff meetings

-Ensure a high level of training is implemented

Requirements

– 2-4 years of experience min

-Previous leadership experience/skills that include the ability to motivate, support and supervise

-A genuine love educating children in an aquatic environment

-Exceptional customer service skills

-Ability to problem solve using critical thinking skills

-Strong ability to communicate well and build relationships

-Willingness to work any days of the week

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of experience will be considered

The position is available in multiple locations including Houston-Central, Katy (Cinco Ranch), Sugar Land (Riverstone), and our newest location, Cypress (Towne Lake). The Front Desk position is responsible for maintaining positive communication with customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Provides customer service to customers

-Meets customer needs, offers options, resolves problems, and follows up with customers

-Ensures full customer satisfaction

-Maintains friendly, helpful demeanor

-Provides information regarding policies and procedures, terms and programs relating to service area for customers

-Identifies and prioritizes problems and issues related to the service area

-Refers to appropriate person or department as needed, and/or arranges for service

-Tracks problem status until resolution is achieved

-Maintains close contact with customer to give updates on progress toward resolution of issue or service request

-Uses information systems to input data, maintains databases

-Verifies contracts or forms for completeness and accuracy of information

-Updates and maintains all necessary records and/or logs

-Represents department to outside customers

-Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Do you love to swim?! Pengu Swim School may be the place for you! Pengu Swim School is looking for active, energetic, and highly accountable people to fill our Life Guard position. The position is available in multiple locations including Houston-Central, Katy (Cinco Ranch), Sugar Land (Riverstone), and our newest location, Cypress (Towne Lake). The Life Guard position is responsible for maintaining the safety of children ages 4 month to 12 years during swim lessons.

Responsibilities

-Monitors the swimming area for situations that could lead to accidents and watches for signs of distress

-Enforces all site rules and regulations

-Examines injures persons and administers first aid using training and medical supplies and equipment

-Contacts emergency personnel in case of a serious injury

-Rescues distressed persons using rescue technique and equipment

-Lifeguards on duty must remain on deck at all times

-Lifeguards must always wear their fanny pack with the appropriate gear as well as a whistle

-Facility maintenance and cleaning

-Performs other related duties as assigned and requested

-Supervises and observes swimmers through scanning in designated zone to ensure safety during instruction and open swim times.

-General facility cleaning including cleaning of the pool deck, pool vacuuming, cleaning the dressing rooms, etc.

-Assists with maintaining pool quality and safety by testing chemicals and adding chemicals if instructed

-Attends all required staff meetings and trainings

-Communicates in an appropriate manner with all colleagues, management and customers

-Maintain up to date certification

Qualifications:

– no qualification required: we provide our staff with training and certification for Red Cross Lifeguard

Skills:

-Ability to work independently and to positively interact with the public

-Excellent verbal communication skills

-Excellent judgment and decision-making skills

-Sensitivity to when something is wrong or likely to go wrong

-Service orientation
